Collections

Since 1894, the BC Archives has been acquiring and preserving the records of British Columbia’s past. The history of the province is here, in government records, in private letters and journals, in books, in maps, paintings, drawings, and prints, and in sound recordings and moving images.

Our role is to acquire records of enduring value to the province, preserve them for the future, and make them available to everyone who wants to use them, from family and community historians to academic, scientific and government researchers.

Visit the Archives and explore the fascinating history of our province through its archival records.

The BC Archives does not participate in an Inter Library Loan (ILL) programme.
