The BC Archives houses the recorded evidence and stories of British Columbia’s past.  Our collections are extensive, comprising original documents, photographs, maps, paintings, sound recordings, films and books – some dating back more than two centuries.  They are a rich source of information for researchers, whether pursuing family history, scholarly studies, legal inquiries, or general historical research.

The BC Archives is located in downtown Victoria, at 655 Belleville Street, at the corner of Belleville and Government Streets, close to the Legislative Buildings and the Empress Hotel.
