Prescribed Learning Outcomes:
Can students discuss how changes in an organism's habitat can affect
the survival of individual organisms and the entire species? Did they
demonstrate this by inferring, and correctly predicting the outcome for
unprotected spaces?
Can students give examples of how the differences in individuals of
the same species may give an advantage in surviving and reproducing? Did
they demonstrate this by collecting data for various species?
Can students relate the growth and survival of organisms to a variety
of conditions? Did they demonstrate this by interpreting data and suggesting
reasons for endangerment?
Can students give examples of the many plants and animals at risk in
their own region? Did they demonstrate this by creating a Red List for
their region, collecting data for species in the Thompson-Okanagan, and
communicating this information to others?
Can students relate the problematic conditions within a certain biome?
Did they demonstrate this by suggesting reasons for degradation, or loss,
of a biome and communicating this information to others?
Can students understand the importance of being socially responsible?
Did they demonstrate this by creating an Action Plan and acting upon it?
